Welcome to Kei KB
Kei KB is a public knowledge base for Japanese kei trucks and vans. The goal is to collect practical, model-specific documentation that owners can actually use: service notes, fluids and capacities, model-code references, parts cross-references, wiring notes, manuals, photos, and owner-tested repair procedures.
Kei trucks are compact Japanese market work vehicles built under Japan's kei vehicle regulations. Many are now imported around the world, but reliable English-language documentation is scattered across forums, auction listings, personal notes, scanned manuals, parts catalogs, and individual owner experience. Kei KB exists to organize that information by manufacturer, model family, chassis code, drivetrain, and year range.

What You Can Find Here
- Manufacturer shelves for Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Honda, Subaru, and Suzuki.
- Model books for specific truck and van families, such as Mitsubishi Minicab U41T/U42T.
- Procedure pages for maintenance, fluids, timing belts, carburetors, tires, lift kits, interior removal, and other common owner work.
- Reference pages for model codes, engine codes, transmission markings, part numbers, manuals, supplier notes, and import or registration notes.
- Community submissions that can be reviewed, corrected, and promoted into the published documentation.
How the Site Is Organized
Kei KB uses a simple structure: shelves are manufacturers, books are model families or chassis/year ranges, and pages are the actual documentation. New model books should stay flat whenever possible: one book containing focused pages. Chapters are avoided unless a book grows large enough that they clearly improve navigation.
Contributing
Anyone can read the public documentation. Registered users can submit documents, photos, corrections, and notes. New contributors start with limited permissions so public pages stay protected from spam, accidental deletion, and bad edits. Trusted contributors and moderators can help review submissions and update published model books.
Good contributions include clear photos you took yourself, verified part numbers, factory manual references, model-year notes, chassis-code details, and repair procedures that explain what was tested. If information is uncertain, mark it clearly instead of presenting it as confirmed.
Community and Support
Use the Discord link at the bottom of the page for quick discussion, identification help, and coordination. Useful discoveries from chat should be turned into BookStack pages so the permanent answer stays searchable and organized. Ko-fi support links help offset hosting and storage costs, and affiliate links may be used where appropriate with disclosure.
